Abstract

Born and raised in the West Colfax neighborhood, Leonard Alterman excelled at basketball in both AAU and at North High School. Alterman parleyed this success into a scholarship at the University of Denver, and after service in WW2, a short career with the old Denver Nuggets in the NBA's predecessor league, the National Basketball League.

Abstract

Herb Galchinsky was born in 1937. He was coached by Shelly Silverman, when he was playing at the Young America League at the JCC. He also played on his high school team at north high school. After high school he attended University of Denver, Law School on an academic scholarship which was converted to a full ride athletics scholarship. He was the captain of his team, his senior year. after he went on to being a judge. he also coached the little League baseball.

Abstract

Harvey Salz, from Brooklyn, New York, played for the DC Truckers in AAU competitions, passing up try-outs with the St. Louis Hawks (now Atlanta Hawks) and the New York Knicks to play for the Truckers during the early 1960s. He also played with the Truckers in a tournement in Ecuador in 1962. Salz also played handball as well.
